About Me:

I guess I've always loved houses -- as a child I drew floorplans, built homes out of Lincoln Logs and Legos, and loved nothing better than touring "models" with my mom and sister.  We'd hop in the car and look at all the new homes popping up in the cornfields of the Chicago suburbs.

At Arizona State University I majored in Home Economics and minored in History.  The history tied into my love of architecture, and the Home Economics tied into my fascination for the homes we live in.

Professionally, I spent 16 years at Northwestern Mutual Life in Phoenix, in charge of customer service for Arizona policy holders.  Experience with a very diverse client base and in-depth  financial scenarios really helped me when I moved into real estate in 1996.  My business partner, Cheri Hardy, and I specialize in  "high touch/high tech" service .  Our clients want and need us to be there every step of the way when buying and selling residential real estate, whether it's a move down the street or across the planet.

Personally, I married my college sweetheart and we've lived and raised our son  here in Tempe.  We are active members of All Saints Catholic Newman Center on the ASU campus, and I also sing and perform with ASU's Choral Union.   Outside of real estate I am active in ministries to help the homeless and the elderly in Tempe.  I am an avid reader and enjoy theater, especially musicals, in venues throughout the Valley.  Our household is ruled by our cat, Samantha, and poodle, Sadie and shared with 4 turtles and numerous fish.

It’s time for investors to tax plan for 2010

Thursday, July 1, 2010 @ 08:07 AM

Now is the time for all investors to look ahead to the end of the year and decide if this is the right year to sell properties.  A loss on a condo, for instance, may help offset a gain on another investment or an IRA or 401(k) distribution.  Accountants aren’t so busy right now, so it’s a great time to do some planning, get advice and move ahead if it’s the right time to sell.
